Junior Hammond age 47 of New Castle passed away Tuesday September 22, 2009 at the Heritage House Nursing Home.
He was born January 6, 1962 in Muncie, Indiana the son of Homer J. Hammond and Ann E. Pratt. He lost his long fight of 13 years to Huntington Chorea.
He was a 1980 New Castle Chrysler High School graduate. He served our nation as a Army Ranger. He loved to run in Marathons, Nascar, Drag Racing, watching movies and Rock -n- Roll.
Survived by his best friend and caregiver Jason Higgins, brother Brent, sisters Kim Maddy and Angie Cole. Also his mother Ann (husband Randy) Muncy, nieces and nephews. A special thank you to all his friends at Heritage House Nursing Home.
Preceded in death by his father Homer Hammond.
There will be a graveside service Thursday September 24, 2009 at 11 AM at South Mound Cemetery Legion Hill. The V.F.W and American Legion will be providing military rites.
