Gene D. Phillips age 81 of New Castle passed away Saturday March 12, 2011 at Heritage House Nursing Home.
He was born May 20, 1029 in Albany, Kentucky the son of the late Elmer and Roxey Means Phillips.
Survivors include his wife Edith, 1 grandchild Brittney (husband Dustin) Sorrell, great grandchildren Destini Sorrell, Ceaira Sorrell. 2 sisters Reba Purcell and Judy Shrum.
Preceded in death by his parents, 1 son Darrell, 1 sister Francis.
Services will be: Tuesday March 15, 2011 at 1:00 PM at Marcum Community Funeral Home. Rev. Gene Bennett will be officiating. Friends may call 11 AM-1PM Tuesday prior to service. Burial will follow in South Mound Cemetery. Online condolences may be made at www.marcumfuneralhome.com
Good bye Uncle Gene. You will be greatly missed. I will remember all the times I stopped by to shoot the breeze, listening to all of your stories and jokes. I will remember all the good times from when you and Edith lived in Florida and we would come visit. The good times at Grandma and Grandpa's farm with all the family holidays and dinners. I know you are no longer in pain
or suffering. You are now home in great company. Rest in peace. I love you. Trisha
