Robert Dobbs age 78 of New Castle passed away Friday December 23, 2011 at St. Joseph Hospital in Fort Wayne, Indiana. He was born November 2, 1933 in New Castle, Indiana the son of the late Dewitt and Julia Wright Dobbs. He was in the U. S Navy during the Korean War. He earned his G.E.D and attended Compton Junior College. He worked as a School Crossing Guard for many years. He is survived by his son Steven Dobbs (wife: Pilar ) of Long Beach, California, daughter Tammy Alberti (husband:Mike) of Mustang, Oklahoma. 7 grandchildren. Sisters Betty Goble, Marilyn Upchurch and Martie Jones all of New Castle, and Karen Crabtree of Indianapolis. Brothers Paul Dobbs of Missouri and Donald Dobbs of Kokomo. Preceded in death by his parents. Services will be Thursday December 29, 2011 at 12:00 PM at Marcum Community Funeral Home. Burial will follow in South Mound Cemetery Legion Hill.
