Susie (Cox) Morgan age 94 of New Castle passed away Friday morning at Ball Memorial Hospital.
She was born November 8, 1917 in Rowan County, Kentucky the daughter of the late Johnie and Martha Conn Johnson. She attended school in Rowan County, Kentucky, worked for Kentucky Fried Chicken, Vances Restaurant and The Tank Restaurant. She was a member of the VFW, Eastern Star and enjoyed dancing at the Moose Lodge. She loved cooking and loved many holidays and always took people in and helped them.
Survivors include her 3 daughters Edna (James) Baum of Huntsville, AL., Nevalle Stines of Muncie, Hilda (Horace) Dalton of Anderson, 6 sons Donald (Rosie) Cox of Chesterfield, IN., Glennis Cox of New Castle, Kenneth (Sheila) Cox of New Castle, Larry (Louise) Cox of New Castle, Jerry (Marge) Cox of Bonita Springs, FL., Charles (Tammy) Penn of New Castle, 1 sister Bertha Trent of New Castle, several grandchildren and great grandchildren and great great grandchildren. Special friend of over 34 years Murrell Wooldridge.
Preceded in death by her 1st husband Leslie Cox in 1951, 2nd husband Ellis Morgan in 1977, sisters Effie Butler, Vadie Dehart, Ruby Conn, brothers Homer, Ray and Cecil Johnson.
Services will be Tuesday January 10, 2012 at 11am at Marcum Community Funeral Home. Burial will follow in South Mound Cemetery. Rev. Jim Becker will be officiating. Friends may call from 5-8pm Monday at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Salvation Army food bank. She was a sweet woman with a friendly smile for everyone she met. Heaven has gained another angel.
