Curtis F. Downs age 55 of New Castle passed away Monday May 11, 2009 at Methodist Hospital in Indianapolis.
He was born June 27, 1953 in Henry County, the son of the late Harold and Elva Thompson Downs. He worked at Philco Ford, State Hospital and Ferodo where is he was a fork lift driver for 28 years.
He is survived by his daughters: Tory Downs of New Castle, Nikki Smart (Jeff) of New Castle, sisters: Hazel Seabolt of New Castle, Anna Workman of Anderson, Beulah Lyuall of New Castle, Anita Burns of New Castle, Barbara Atkinson of New Castle, brothers Billy Downs, Jerry Downs and Jimmy Downs all of New Castle, 6 grandchildren, Shianne Downs, Audry Smart, Curtis Smart, Gregory Smart, Sabrina Downs and Nathan Downs, former wife Cynthia Downs of New Castle.
Preceded in death by his parents; son Curtis Downs and brother Robin Downs.
Services will be Thursday May 14, 2009 at 2 PM at Marcum Community Funeral Home. Rev. Randy Shinolt will be officiating. Burial will follow in Hillsboro Cemetery. Friends may call Wednesday 5-8 PM at the funeral home. Online condolences may be made at www.marcumfuneralhome.

There's really no words to express how sorry I am about this sad occasion. I've never lost a parent, or sibling. I have lost a grandparent, & an uncle. It's extremely hard to function, but we just have to remember those memories. It helps if we know that the person is home with God, & not suffering any more.I'm truely sorry for this sad time, & I'll be praying for you.
